So this fundraiser has been so hard to try to book. As soon as I got one approval from somewhere, another person came along and told me that I couldn't do it. After talking with everyone and finally getting everyone's approval, we have a date. April 2nd. I am so happy we finally got it.

Also, Vinny is in sunny Mexico, and I've basically taken all of the duties for the film until he gets back. A little daunting, yes, but I'll be fine, and I'm glad he's just an email away if I need anything.

I'm so excited for this fundraiser now that we finally have a date set. Invite everyone!

For the last week now, Vinny and I have been meeting with Sleeping Giant PR and they are an amazing group of people with some great ideas to get us more well-known. They are so excited to help us and when everyone gets back from spring break, it will be hard to walk around campus without seeing something about TMC. Christina thinks on the same level as we do, and along with the rest of Sleeping Giant PR, she intends to help us promote TMC as much as possible. It's really great to be working with someone who sees as much potential in this film that we do.

So I haven't updated recently because my computer's hard drive crashed. So now that it's back and in full working order, I will go over the last few weekends. Two weeks ago (wow, it was two weeks ago already) we had our hardest week. We had a locked location, and then ended up losing it at the last minute. Zach, Cody, Vinny, and I met with Becky and ended up sorting it all out. Then, we had another issue- the wardrobe/costumes for the brothers weren't done. Brianne and I spent all day Friday sewing a costume (thanks to Vinny and Justin buying a working sewing machine), and at the end of the day, we only had one. We did a few night scenes Friday night, and then had a meeting about the whole ordeal on Saturday. The meeting went well, and a lot of people spoke about what should be done to make everything run better. Sunday was spent doing pickup shots.

This past Friday and Saturday, I had to go home to the doctor, but I heard it went very well. Sunday we filmed the scenes with Melissa and David, as well as the bedroom scenes with Lana and David. All of the actors did an incredible job, as well as the crew.

This week was (and will be) spent on the new marketing plan for the film. We are explaining it after the QFS meeting tomorrow, and before that Vinny and I are meeting with Sleeping Giant Public Relations to promote the film.

More updates to come!

This weekend was absolutely insane. Thursday night Brianne, Katie and I drove up to New York. We stayed at this pretty sketchy motel that reminded me of the one in "Vacancy". We slept for 5 hours. Got up at 5am. Filmed all day long in the cemetery. Saturday we also got up at 5am, and we ended up filming until 1am. Sunday we got to sleep in until 7am and film until noon. The days are all a blur, but I know that we had some really awesome shots both in the cemetery and at Vinny's house.

On Saturday we had a dilemma with the diner. Vinny called them to remind them that we were coming to film, and the woman freaked out on him saying that she was busy, she didn't remember the conversation that he had with her about the day we were shooting, and that we could only film between Monday and Thursday. It would have been nice of her to let us know this during the first conversation he had with her, but overall I think it was a good thing that we didn't have to go to the diner this weekend. The cast and crew really needed a break, so we all decided to go to the King Buffet and have an amazing lunch instead. Of course, we will have to come back to NY to do the diner scene during a week, but we'll manage.

Sunday we had to finish some shots in the cemetery. We got there, set up, and did a few takes. Then Zach and I realized that it was starting to rain. We got a few more takes in, but the weather was getting worse by the second, and before we knew it, it was raining. Hard. We packed up all of the equipment (in record time) and headed back to Vinny's for some lunch. By the time lunch was over, the weather had cleared up, and we went back over to the cemetery to finish the shots.

Yesterday I got a call from Vinny saying that the school would not let us use the house on Circular Avenue because they have been burned by professional film crews before, and they didn't want to take a chance with us. And didn't want to set a precedent for other students to use the house later. To me, this is totally asenine. Our school should be supportive of us doing something to this caliber, and they shouldn't be the ones to hinder this project. We're still working to get the house, and I hope to god the school realizes this project, what it means to us, and what it could mean for the school. Especially since they're huge on good publicity.

Last Saturday, we filmed out on the quad. I knew we were going to get a lot of attention from students because we had a huge rig and crane set up right in front of the Student Center. It was a cold day out, but all of the extras that came were amazing. We ran into some difficulty using the crane, but Cody and Zach did a great job regardless. Since we were getting a lot of attention from students wanting to know what we were doing with a camera attached to a crane on the quad, Vinny decided that we needed to put up signs all around campus explaining what exactly "The Mercury Cycle" is. And I'm glad we did, because every time I walk around campus, I see one and I know that other people are seeing them too.

This weekend was insane. We worked from 11am until 1:30am on Saturday, and then 8:45 am-5pm on Sunday. I am so proud of the entire crew, they were all amazing through out the entire weekend. We did a lot of shots with David Thomas McLaine (Shamus) on Saturday and with Jessica (Lana) on Sunday. It is coming together so well!

We are filming this weekend in New York, and I'm excited to see how that comes out!

Pre-production has officially wrapped for "The Mercury Cycle" and production has begun. Our shoots in New York were awesome- the cast and crew worked very well together. We ran into some "opportunities", (we don't use the word "problems") but they have since been resolved. We filmed on campus last weekend and we definitely drew a lot of attention to ourselves from other students on campus. Hopefully we'll get more people involved from Quinnipiac.

We are shooting this weekend in New York, and I'm really excited to see what else we are going to do with this project.
